Why I Am Not On Facebook
In 2019, I made the decision to delete my Facebook account.
To put my reasoning lightly, Facebook has reliably demonstrated that when given data, they use it to the detriment of their users’ human rights, privacy and health. I don’t want to be complicit. For concrete examples, check out Richard Stallman’s page and the Wikipedia page Criticisms of Facebook.
I have mostly replaced Facebook in my life with emails, calls/texts, and end-to-end encrypted messaging, which everyone who values human rights should be using.
